Why the cheapest isn’t always the best value
When receiving quotes are you comparing like-for-like?
There are literally hundreds of different styles of pen to choose from and so often the customer seems to be price driven towards the Far Eastern imports as these on the face of it appear the best value for money. That assumption is made purely on comparing unit costs, however, the low cost Far Eastern imports have smaller ink refills than say a German made Senator pen which typically offers at least 1,700 metres of writing, that's six times more than the Far Eastern import. To put this in to perspective, you would need to order 15,000 Far Eastern pens to have the equivalent writing length of 2,500 Senator pens and yet you’re not paying six times the price for Senator. The longer the pen lasts, the greater the advertising impact. The age old saying, you get what you pay for is so true.
